Sister Clarifies Misunderstanding

Oops! Dolly Parton‘s sister Freida expressed that she did not intend to incite worry on Tuesday regarding Dolly’s health … as the music icon is anticipated to be recovering well.
Following some alarm from fans on Facebook, Freida later wrote … “I’d like to clarify something. I never aimed to alarm anyone or suggest it was dire when I asked for prayers for Dolly. She’s been feeling a bit unwell, and I simply sought prayers because I have faith in their power. It was a little sister reaching out for her big sister. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Your support truly makes a difference.”
Freida, aged 68, made fans anxious about Dolly, who is 79, after she posted on Facebook, stating … “Last night, I was awake all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you are aware that she hasn’t been feeling her best recently. I genuinely believe in the power of prayer, and I feel compelled to ask everyone who loves her to join me as prayer warriors.”

This comes after the Grammy-winning artist faced an infection due to a kidney stone in September, leading her to miss the in-person unveiling of Dollywood’s latest ride, a unique roller-coaster and whitewater ride dubbed Night Flight Expedition. The star of “9 to 5” still managed to virtually appear, assuring fans … “I’m there with you in spirit.”
On September 28, Dolly postponed six shows from her Las Vegas residency, initially scheduled from December 4 to December 13 at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum Theater.
The country music star has endured a particularly difficult year in 2025, mourning the loss of her long-time husband, Carl Dean, in March.
