A shooting incident on Chicago’s Far North Side left a 31-year-old man in serious condition after he was shot during a confrontation with a pedestrian on Wednesday evening. The incident took place around 8:40 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Devon Avenue, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.

According to investigators, the victim was seated in a vehicle when an argument ensued between him and a pedestrian. The situation escalated, leading the victim to exit his car, at which point the pedestrian brandished a gun and fired at him, hitting him in the abdomen. The shooter then fled the scene.

A witness described the perpetrator as a young Hispanic male, approximately 4 feet 7 inches tall, dressed in a white shirt and white shorts. The suspect was last seen heading south on Oakley Avenue. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

The injured victim was promptly transported to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition for medical treatment.
