Undefeated MMA fighter Dustin Lampros is not only known for his skills in the cage, but also for his efforts to catch child predators and make a difference in his community. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Lampros shared some of the craziest moments he has experienced while trying to protect children from predators.
Lampros, who boasts a 9-0 record, revealed that he and a friend started their mission to catch child predators two years ago, driven by a desire to make a positive impact in their hometown. “When he exposed it to me and brought me into that world, I instantly felt motivated to do something,” Lampros said. “I looked at him right away and said, ‘Let’s do it, let’s help down here in the community.'”
What started as a small initiative quickly gained momentum, with Lampros estimating that they have been involved in around 50 captures to date. While the 30-year-old fighter has never resorted to violence, he has encountered dangerous situations, including having weapons pulled on him.
Lampros recalled a chilling incident where a child predator brandished a box-cutter knife, and another where a man threatened him with a handgun. “I had a hunch he was going to grab something, and he did. He grabbed a handgun,” Lampros recounted. Fortunately, he and his team were able to handle these situations safely and without harm.
Despite the risks involved, Lampros remains committed to his cause and takes all necessary precautions when confronting potential predators. His next challenge will be at Shamrock FC 362, where he will be competing in a title fight. Lampros sees this as another opportunity to make a difference and continue his mission to protect children from harm.
