On election day in 2024, disturbing bomb threats disrupted polling locations across Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
U.S. intelligence officials indicated that these threats seemed to stem from Russian email domains; however, the exact origin remains uncertain.

Such bomb threats serve as a tool for instilling fear and undermining the democratic process, discouraging citizens from exercising their right to vote.

Fortunately, states are beginning to reinforce their measures to ensure the safety and security of electoral processes. With significant elections on the horizon in New York City, New Jersey, Virginia, and California, it’s no surprise that both foreign and domestic entities intent on sowing discord are revisiting their old tactics in 2025.
Just as in 2024, bomb threats were again dispatched to polling locations, this time targeting northern New Jersey. Thankfully, the state was prepared to handle these threats.
