Elle Fanning is set to star in the upcoming Apple TV dramedy “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” where she plays the role of Margo, a young woman facing financial struggles after an unplanned pregnancy resulting from an affair with her creative writing professor. The teaser trailer for the series was revealed at Apple TV’s 2026 Press Day on Feb. 3.
In the series, Margo, a community college dropout and aspiring writer, turns to unconventional methods to make ends meet, including posting alien-themed fetish content on OnlyFans. The show, premiering on April 15, also features Michelle Pfeiffer as Margo’s ex-Hooters waitress mom, Nick Offerman as her ex-pro wrestler dad, and Nicole Kidman and Thaddea Graham in supporting roles. The star-studded cast also includes Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty, and Lindsey Normington.
The event at Apple TV’s Press Day included a panel moderated by Rufi Thorpe, the author of the bestselling novel that inspired the series. Showrunner and writer David E. Kelley, known for his work on “Ally McBeal” and “Big Little Lies,” joked about convincing his wife, Michelle Pfeiffer, to join the cast.
Elle Fanning shared that she was drawn to the role of Margo because of the character’s spunk and optimism. She aimed to portray Margo’s post-partum journey realistically and sought guidance from the mothers on set to stay authentic to the experience.
Nick Offerman, who plays Jinx in the series, expressed his initial apprehensions about the role but ultimately found the storytelling to be “sublime art.” The series is executive produced by a team that includes Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Nicole Kidman, and David E. Kelley.
“Margo’s Got Money Troubles” is a collaboration between Apple TV and A24, with Kelley at the helm. The teaser trailer for the series offers a glimpse into Margo’s world and the challenges she faces as she navigates motherhood and financial instability.
Fans can look forward to the premiere of “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” on April 15, where they can follow Margo’s journey as she finds creative ways to overcome her financial struggles.
