Elsbeth Tascioni is often seen in pink on the CBS series “Elsbeth,” making it a fitting collaboration for the show to team up with Hollywood’s renowned Pink’s Hot Dogs for an Emmy For Your Consideration (FYC) campaign.
Pink’s Hot Dogs will offer complimentary hot dogs every Thursday, coinciding with the airing of “Elsbeth” on CBS. The first 100 customers will enjoy these free treats for seven consecutive weeks on April 30, May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28, June 4, and June 11.
In celebration of this promotion, the hot dog has been named “The Elsbeth.” This 9-inch hot dog is topped with coleslaw, cheddar, mustard, and ketchup. Once the free hot dogs have been distributed, “The Elsbeth” will be available for $7.25.
This FYC campaign coincides with CBS’s decision to categorize “Elsbeth” as a comedy for the Emmy awards, a move that highlights the show’s comedic elements.
Executive producer Jonathan Tolins commented on the category change, stating, “In terms of the category shift, I don’t think we changed what we were doing. I think over time we just saw it more clearly. The satirical elements, the rhythm of the show, and the sparkling performances of our cast and guest stars have always had a comedic bent. Yes, every episode includes a murder investigation, but the crime is more likely to involve a paper shredder, a hot tub, or a giant nutcracker head than a gun. That particular ‘Elsbeth’ tone makes calling it a comedy feel right.”
CBS Studios is finalizing its Emmy submissions for “Elsbeth,” which currently include Carrie Preston for lead actress in a comedy and Wendell Pierce for supporting actor in a comedy. Guest actor submissions feature Stephen Colbert (episode 301) and J Smith-Cameron (episode 314), among others. Submissions for outstanding directing include Jose Menendez (301) and John Aronson (313), while outstanding writing submissions feature Tolins (301) and Eric Randall & Matthew K. Begbie (311).
“Elsbeth” is concluding its third season and has been greenlit for a fourth. Since its debut in February 2024, the show has performed strongly for CBS. It stars Carrie Preston as the quirky attorney-turned-consultant Elsbeth Tascioni, a character originating from “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight,” who now aids the NYPD in solving crimes.
Preston and Pierce lead the cast, with executive producers Robert King, Michelle King, Jonathan Tolins, Liz Glotzer, Erica Shelton Kodish, Bryan Goluboff, and Gail Barringer.
