For the spring 2026 Emilio Pucci show, Camille Miceli orchestrated an event that drew her devoted circle of friends and family, along with others lured by the allure of Sicilian sunshine, cannolis, and pasta alla Norma. The gathering took place on Ortigia, a charming island near Siracusa steeped in mythology. The show was set against the imposing arches of the Grotta dei Cordari, a location so dramatic it seemed a Greek chorus might appear at any minute. With her half-Italian heritage, Miceli skillfully captures the picturesque appeal. However, true to her Parisian roots, she maintains a critical distance. “Let’s be honest,” she quipped, “Sicily is a trend. Everyone wants to come here.”

With four years at the helm of the Florentine house, Miceli has found her rhythm. She blends archival prints with new interpretations with ease, infusing the collection with a cool, bohemian sensuality devoid of pretension. “Pucci is not pretentious,” she emphasized. “We’re not snobby. We’re approachable.” Her designs don’t require a manual to decode: they are instantly appealing and accessible. Feminine and joyful, her creations fill a void often found in fashion. Miceli’s formula of charm, clarity, and a deliberate absence of arrogance seems to be a success.

Emilio Pucci was inspired by Sicily long ago, capturing the island’s essence in 1950s prints, famously depicted in a photograph from Palermo’s Piazza Armerina, where a woman in a Pucci swimsuit blends with the mosaic backdrop. Miceli was captivated by Ortigia’s faded elegance: balconies encircling palazzos like crinolines, both theatrical and slightly worn. “I love the disused, decadent side,” she remarked, viewing it as more than an aesthetic—it’s a civic commitment in Sicily.

The collection, named Alba—Italian for dawn—reflects Miceli’s unique perspective where dawn refracts rather than breaks. Drawing from the literal Sicilian sunrise, colors inspired by Mount Etna are evident. A conceptual sunrise is also depicted; Olafur Eliasson’s artificial sun at the Tate Modern, which enveloped viewers in a glowing transcendence, might have influenced the creation of loose-knitted tunics with a hallucinogenic shimmer. Additionally, there’s the dawn following a long night out, as music fades and eyeliner smudges, ideal for the free-spirited Pucci en deshabillé.

Miceli’s vision alternates between yogi and rave girl, embodying the duality that defines 2026 fashion. Sequined fringes flickered like controlled flames, a house signature now electrified, and “Fiamme” prints danced across the collection. Miceli also revisited Pucci classics: foulard dresses, pareos draped over sleek hips, and tops that reveal toned abs, with some pieces hinting at a darker edge.

Slip dresses evoked 1990s minimalism, while liquid jerseys revived the Marmo print. Fishnet, sequins, and antique gold accents firmly rooted the collection in night-time allure. The show concluded with Angelina Kendall adorned in a top made entirely of jewelry. In Miceli’s hands, Alba was not just about a new beginning but explored the nuanced space between endings and new possibilities, leaving one unsure whether to end the night or greet the day with a sun salutation. Pucci, for now, embodies both.
