Eric Dane, best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan on the hit TV show “Grey’s Anatomy,” tragically passed away on February 19th after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. In honor of Dane, his closest friends have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for his wife and two daughters.

Since being diagnosed with ALS in 2025, Dane had become a passionate advocate for the ALS community, using his platform to raise awareness and support fellow patients. Despite his own declining health, he remained committed to helping others facing the same devastating disease. As a result, his friends came together to create the GoFundMe page to provide financial support for his family’s future needs.

The GoFundMe page has already raised $178,064 of its $250,000 goal, with top donors including “Euphoria” director Sam Levinson and executive producer Ashley Levinson, who donated a joint sum of $27,000. The outpouring of support for Dane’s family has been overwhelming, with tributes flooding social media from his colleagues and fans.

“Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes paid tribute to Dane on Instagram, praising his portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan and the impact he had on audiences worldwide. She expressed gratitude for Dane’s artistry, spirit, friendship, and humanity, and extended her condolences to his family and loved ones.

The loss of Eric Dane has been deeply felt by the entertainment industry and fans alike. His legacy will live on through his work and the memories he created on screen. The GoFundMe page serves as a way for fans to show their support for Dane’s family during this difficult time and ensure a stable future for his daughters.
