A close-up image captured Erika and Charlie holding hands on their wedding day. Erika wore a white gown with a mermaid-style skirt and a long veil, while Charlie was dressed in a black suit.
The post was shared without a caption, apart from the text on the photo itself. Despite this, the comments section remained open, allowing critics to voice their opinions freely.
One commenter criticized, “The nerve you had to post this,” highlighting concerns about Erika’s reaction to Charlie’s passing over the year. Another remarked, “Ohhh honey… not sure you’re gonna make it to heaven,” while another questioned, “Heaven? You think you will enter the gates of heaven?”
Several individuals used the opportunity to promote a conspiracy theory alleging Erika’s involvement in the incident leading to Charlie’s death. One critic claimed, “She was in on it,” while another accused, “You set him up, though.”
No evidence supports the allegations against Erika, yet the conspiracy persists, fueled by skepticism of official reports and comments from Candace Owens. Erika has previously urged the public to stop these speculations, asserting her innocence. Despite this, she faced backlash for her response and her appearances at public events.
Owens, deeply affected by Charlie’s death, fueled conspiracies while expressing her grief. She was a close friend of Charlie’s and her emotional tribute was contrasted with Erika’s approach. One individual commented, “Candace just showed more emotion towards Charlie in 30 minutes on her show than you have the past year… don’t even.”
Owens released a 30-minute video on YouTube, declaring, “Our world, and certainly my world, is never going to be the same.” She shared memories and journal entries dedicated to her late friend.
Besides her Instagram post, Erika spoke at a memorial service for Charlie. She stated, “Charlie died with incomplete work, but not with unfinished business. And I will miss him. I will miss him so much because our marriage and our family were beautiful. They still are.”
She concluded by emphasizing, “Charlie’s life was a turning point for this country. It was a miracle. Let that miracle that was Charlie’s life be your turning point as well. Choose prayer, choose courage, choose beauty, choose adventure, choose family. Choose a life of faith. Most importantly, choose Christ. I love you, Charlie, baby, and I will make you proud. God bless you all, and God bless America.”
Nevertheless, Owens criticized Erika’s speech. She remarked on the Shawn Ryan Show, “Certain things that I now see with very clear eyes, like her speech, like you said at the memorial, Erika actually doesn’t really tell you anything about Charlie in that speech.”
