Renowned actress Elisha Cuthbert has officially signed on to star in Amazon Prime Video‘s upcoming series Every Year After, a highly anticipated adaptation of Carley Fortune’s romantic novel, Every Summer After.
In this new role, Cuthbert will portray Sue Florek, the mother of Sam Florek, played by Matt Cornett. She joins a cast that includes previously announced leads Sadie Soverall and a talented ensemble featuring Aurora Perrineau, Abigail Cowen, Michael Bradway, and Joseph Chiu.
The official logline for Every Year After reads: “Set over six years and one week in Barry’s Bay, the quintessential lakeside town, this series weaves a romantic and nostalgic tale of first loves, along with the choices and people that influence our lives forever.”
Cuthbert is widely recognized for her memorable performances in popular series such as The Ranch, Happy Endings, and 24. She has also starred in iconic films like The Girl Next Door and House of Wax. Recently, she completed filming the feature film Bandit alongside Josh Duhamel and Mel Gibson, and she has also worked on The Cellar opposite Eoin Macken.
The actress is represented by CAA and Principal.
Serving as the showrunner and executive producer for the series is Amy B. Harris. Carley Fortune is also an executive producer, alongside Lindsey Liberatore, Amy Rardin, John Stephens, and Grace Gilroy.

The novel stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for 14 weeks and has sold over 1 million copies. This project marks Amazon’s latest venture into the young adult genre.
