Following their December 2024 engagement, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco dedicated several months to wedding preparations before finally tying the knot in September 2025.
By July 2025, Blanco informed fans that while they were both busy juggling various projects, they had "not even begun" wedding planning.
"But we’re so thrilled!" he expressed on Jake Shane’s "Therapuss" podcast. "This summer, we plan to sit down and say, ‘Alright, what’s the game plan, babe?"
A month after Blanco’s update, Gomez headed to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for a bachelorette bash with her closest friends.
"It was your classic, traditional bachelorette party that Selena envisioned," an insider told Us Weekly in August 2025. "She was glowing throughout the weekend, enjoying some well-deserved time with her friends. Selena is down-to-earth; it’s the little joys that mean the most to her. Her enthusiasm when speaking of Benny is unmistakable—she’s eager to embark on this new journey together."
Meanwhile, Blanco indulged in a bachelor party in Las Vegas with friends, including rapper Lil Dicky.
Stick around as we outline what we know so far about the couple’s much-anticipated wedding:
The Couple Planned for a Relaxed Affair
Despite the busy schedules preventing extensive wedding arrangements, Blanco teased that their ceremony would be worth the wait.
"It will be relaxed," he beamed during the “"Therapuss" podcast. "And absolutely amazing."
The Wedding Planning Process Was ‘Delightful’
By September 2025, Gomez remarked that her wedding planning experience had been "wonderful."
"I feel incredibly fortunate," she stated during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "Everything is going smoothly. I can hardly wait!"
Her Unique Dessert Preference
Interestingly, Gomez expressed her desire against having a grand wedding cake.
"I think we’d prefer something smaller just for us to freeze later on," she explained via her beauty brand, Rare Beauty’s TikTok in July 2025. "Honestly, biscuits and gravy—specifically, my Nana’s recipe—is what I truly want for dessert."
They Subverted the Traditional First Dance
In April 2025, Gomez indicated that she and Blanco might skip the conventional first dance.
"I’m really not up for it," Blanco disclosed on the "Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware" podcast, which Gomez corroborated by expressing a desire for a special dance with her grandfather. "I want to share a dance with my papa. He missed the chance to walk my mom Mandy Teefey down the aisle, as she decided to elope in Vegas at 26, and they’re happily together ever since! It’s a sweet little twist to give my grandfather his moment."
Gomez clarified that while they were skipping the traditional dance, they would still participate in the Hora to honor Blanco’s Jewish heritage. "I confess, I’m a bit anxious about that,” Gomez admitted. "It looks so lovely and sweet, but the logistics of relying on friends for something so pivotal? I just might need some extra cushion!"
Martin Short: The Unlikely Ring Bearer
Gomez has confirmed that her Only Murders in the Building co-star and dear friend Martin Short will have a prominent role as the ring bearer at her wedding.
"Marty’s stepping up as the ring bearer," she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Short, alongside Steve Martin, expressed their excitement for the upcoming celebration. "We are thrilled for this lovely lady and her fiancé, Bad Bunny," Short humorously remarked before Gomez quickly corrected him, "It’s Benny Blanco!"
Star-Studded Guestlist
In addition to Short and Martin, a constellation of stars were expected to grace the event, including Paris Hilton, Ed Sheeran, David Henrie, Taylor Swift, and Ashley Park.
Sadly, Meryl Streep was unable to join Short at the ceremony, as she attended Milan Fashion Week 2025 that very same day.
When Did They Exchange Vows?
Gomez took to Instagram on September 27 to share that she and Blanco had officially exchanged vows earlier that day in Santa Barbara, California. The pop superstar showcased her elegant sleeveless white gown, while Blanco opted for a classic tuxedo.
Us Weekly previously revealed the couple’s loved ones and celebrity friends gathered for a rehearsal dinner on the night of September 26, setting the stage for a star-studded ceremony the following day.
"It’s shaping up to be a grand, star-studded affair, thoughtfully arranged by Mindy Weiss," shared a source.
