EXCLUSIVE: Alice Evans Dumps Her Attorney and Chooses to Represent Herself in Separation from Ioan Gruffudd as Hollywood's Ugliest Divorce Rages On

After a tumultuous series of legal disputes, the upcoming trial date is set for February. Recent court documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com show that Alice Evans has initiated a Substitution of Attorney and a Notice of Limited Scope Representation, indicating her decision to represent herself during the proceedings.

Despite her self-representation, her current attorney will remain by her side to provide guidance on essential matters such as child and spousal support, as well as any necessary adjustments to existing restraining orders. Additionally, her attorney will assist in preparing Evans for the trial.

According to the court filings, “Counsel will represent Respondent on all issues set for trial and all pre-trial dates, including the Final Status Conference set for 2/17/26, trial set for 2/23/26-2/26/26 and 3/2/26-3/6/26, Status Conference on December 19, 2025, hearing on Respondent’s RFO filed July 1, 2024 set for December 19, 2025 and Petitioner’s request to renew DVRO on December 19, 2025.”

RadarOnline.com has reached out for comments from Evans’ upcoming former attorney.

Although Evans has entered self-representation, she has not explained her rationale, but she has stated her situation is dire, indicating she is “living in poverty.” She has gone to the extent of borrowing from friends and even launched a GoFundMe campaign, which has raised $18,000 in support.

Furthermore, Evans and her daughters, Ella (16) and Elsie (12), were reportedly evicted from their Los Angeles residence due to her inability to cover the $6,500 monthly rent payment.

Earlier this year, the couple faced a contentious court session regarding Evans’ petition for increased spousal support. At present, Gruffudd is required to remit $4,500 monthly, but Evans has argued that her living conditions require more due to the high cost of living in California.

In response, Gruffudd opposes any increase, indicating that he wishes to cease payments to Evans entirely.

In his own court documentation, Gruffudd alleged that Evans “intentionally put herself in a position to be evicted, ceasing to pay rent and instead choosing to take their children on a vacation to Europe.” Gruffudd claims this was a ploy to bolster her public narrative of financial instability, pressuring him to increase support payments beyond what he can afford.

Gruffudd also asserts that bank records show Evans is not in financial distress as she claims, indicating that she earned over $130,000 in 2024 and is projected to make a similar amount this year. However, Evans has dismissed these statements as “false and misleading.”
