Garry Chapman, the police officer son of famed bounty hunter Dog The Bounty Hunter, officially known as Duane Chapman, has been placed on administrative leave following his involvement in a tragic car chase that led to the death of a 17-year-old named Tristan Hollis.

Reports indicate that Garry was pursuing a suspect on suspicion of DUI when the suspect, identified as Archie Hale, collided with a vehicle carrying six teenagers.

Garry Chapman is currently on leave from his role as a police officer in Priceville, Alabama.

Local reports state that Garry, from the Priceville Police Department in northern Alabama, pursued Hale across town lines into Hartselle. The pursuit culminated in Hale crashing into another vehicle, which was unfortunately filled with six adolescents. Tristan Hollis lost his life, while three others sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Hale and a passenger from his vehicle also required medical attention.

As per standard procedure, Garry has been placed on administrative leave while the incident is under investigation.

Priceville Mayor Sam Heflin stated, “Everything’s under investigation. Once we have more information, we will provide a statement. Our thoughts are with those involved.”

Tristan Hollis, aged 17, tragically died as a result of the crash.

In light of the incident, families of the injured teenagers have established GoFundMe campaigns to assist with funeral costs and medical expenses. One plea notes, “Braxton’s life was shattered in this accident that took the life of his best friend and left two others critically injured. No teenager should bear such a heavy burden.”
