A man from Hawaii was tragically found dead in Los Angeles after a weeks-long search for his missing daughter. Authorities have confirmed that Ryan Kobayashi, 58, died by suicide, succumbing to multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries, as determined by the Los Angeles County medical examiner.

Kobayashi had flown to Los Angeles to assist in the search for his daughter, 30-year-old Hannah Kobayashi, who disappeared in the city after missing a connecting flight to New York on Nov. 8.

During an interview with The New York Post, Hannah’s aunt, Larie Pidgeon, attributed Ryan’s death to online conspiracy theories surrounding Hannah’s disappearance, including unfounded claims of sex trafficking and cult involvement.

Expressing heartbreak over Ryan’s passing, the Kobayashi family urged the public to continue efforts to find Hannah. They emphasized the need for support, compassion, and prayers during this challenging time, asking for respectful comments and posts as the family grieves the loss of their loved one.

The family’s statement, shared with search and rescue organization The Rad Movement, emphasized the profound trauma they are facing and the importance of community support in their search for Hannah.
