A female gym teacher in Florida has been arrested for sending “inappropriate” text messages and photos to a 13-year-old student, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Yezmar Angeanis Ramos-Figueroa, a 22-year-old physical education teacher at Central Point Christian Academy, admitted to investigators that she had communicated with the student, who attended the middle school virtually.
The student’s mother reported the incident to the authorities, leading to Ramos-Figueroa’s arrest on two felony charges: distributing obscene material to a minor and transmitting harmful material to a minor. She is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
The teacher’s admission of guilt and the evidence presented by the authorities have raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of students at Central Point Christian Academy. The private K-12 school in Kissimmee has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
The case highlights the importance of vigilance and communication between parents, students, and school authorities to prevent such incidents from occurring. It also serves as a reminder of the legal consequences that individuals face when engaging in inappropriate behavior with minors.
As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge about the nature of Ramos-Figueroa’s interactions with the student and any potential impact on the school community. In the meantime, the authorities are working to ensure the safety and security of all students at Central Point Christian Academy.
