Pelican Bay Capital Management, an investment management company, recently released its third-quarter 2025 investor letter. The firm’s Concentrated Value Strategy saw a return of 7.8% in the quarter, outperforming the Russell 1000 Value Index, which returned 5.3%. Year-to-date, the fund returned 11.2%, slightly underperforming the index’s return of 11.6%. For more details on the investor letter, you can download a copy from the company’s website.

One of the highlighted stocks in the investor letter was Fidelity National Information Services Inc. (NYSE:FIS). Fidelity National Information Services is a prominent provider of financial technology solutions for various entities. The stock had a one-month return of -3.76% and has lost 26.98% of its value over the past 52 weeks. As of November 7, 2025, Fidelity National Information Services’ stock closed at $64.78 per share, with a market capitalization of $33.55 billion.

In the third quarter letter, PBCM Concentrated Value Strategy mentioned Fidelity National Information Services as the largest detractor in performance. The stock experienced a decline following an earnings report that was received poorly due to a conservative outlook compared to expectations. Despite this setback, the firm believes that the company is undervalued and took advantage of the share price drop to add to its position.

While Fidelity National Information Services is not among the 30 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds, 49 hedge fund portfolios still held the stock at the end of the second quarter. The firm recognizes the potential of the stock as an investment but believes that certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential with less downside risk.
