Political analyst Matthew Dowd, who was fired by MSNBC for his comments about Charlie Kirk, criticized his former network for not giving his dismissal the same attention they gave Jimmy Kimmel’s show suspension. In a podcast appearance with Katie Couric, Dowd expressed his disappointment in MSNBC for not addressing his firing on air, while highlighting Kimmel’s suspension as a concerning attack on the First Amendment.

Dowd accused “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of showing approval for his termination the day after it happened, only to later express outrage over Kimmel’s suspension. The decision by ABC to suspend Kimmel’s show has sparked backlash from various late-night hosts and free speech advocates, who view it as a restriction on freedom of expression.

Dowd, who was let go after his comments about Kirk, critiqued MSNBC for hypocrisy in criticizing others for bowing to pressure from the Trump administration while also giving in to similar pressures by firing him. He called out MSNBC for exhibiting the same behavior they condemn in others.

JS has reached out to MSNBC for their response to Dowd’s comments.
