With the Trump Administration threatening to withhold SNAP benefits to Americans in need, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has taken action by launching a food drive to support the Los Angeles Food Bank and the St. Joseph Center. The LA Food Bank is dedicated to mobilizing resources to fight hunger in the community, while the St. Joseph Center works to help working-poor families and individuals experiencing homelessness achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

As the government shutdown led by the Trump Administration reaches a record-breaking 36 days, there is growing uncertainty surrounding the 42 million Americans who rely on food stamp payments. This uncertainty has prompted “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to step in and provide support for those in need.

The show announced on its Instagram account, “Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors, and families. To support our community members in need, we’re starting a donation center in our Hollywood backlot to benefit the LA Food Bank and St. Joseph Center.” The donation center, dubbed “The Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank,” is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 6901 Hawthorn Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028.

The most needed food items for donation include low-sodium soups, tuna, chicken, salmon, nut butters, low-sugar cereals, protein bars, whole grain pasta, and rice. Additionally, items such as crackers, trail mix, fruit snacks, juice boxes, dried fruit, milk, wipes, diapers, hygiene products, and feminine products are also requested.

In a show of continued community support, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” previously converted its parking lot into a donation point to aid Angelenos impacted by the L.A. fires in January. The show’s dedication to supporting those in need during challenging times is truly commendable.

If you are in the Los Angeles area, consider visiting the donation center to contribute to this important cause. And if you are unable to visit in person, remember to support your local food banks and organizations that are working tirelessly to combat hunger and provide assistance to those facing hardship. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
