In a bold move aimed at shaping the future, First Lady Melania Trump has unveiled a new initiative known as Fostering the Future Together—a global alliance of nations dedicated to elevating the welfare of children through the lenses of education, innovation, and technology.
During her announcement, the First Lady articulated the mission of Fostering the Future Together: “to ensure every child can thrive in our rapidly digitizing world.” She emphasized the myriad benefits of innovation, remarking, “Our societies gain tremendously from technological advancements—improving healthcare, broadening access to information, fostering connections among people, and enhancing safety.”
Reiterating her commitment to children’s empowerment at the convergence of technology and education, Mrs. Trump metaphorically illustrated her vision, stating, “Brilliant thinkers have transformed marbles into microchips, paper airplanes into drones, and kites into satellites.” With this imagery, she showcases the transformative power of creativity and innovation.
Her remarks were delivered during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, where she cautioned, “Let us not forget, our future generations will leverage technology to transform our lifestyles, travel, design, and way of connecting.” This highlights the imperative of equipping children with the tools and knowledge necessary for tomorrow’s challenges.
The initial objectives of Fostering the Future Together include:
