Stevie Nicks’ Struggle with Health: A Look at Her Eye Disease
Stevie Nicks, the legendary singer and songwriter, has faced many challenges throughout her life, including a battle with a late-stage eye disease. At 76 years old, Nicks has overcome many obstacles, including her regret of not having voted until the age of 70. However, her health remains a top priority for the Fleetwood Mac veteran.
According to Nicks, her eye disease began as a result of her prolonged use of glass contacts that she often forgot to remove. This negligence eventually led to terrible sight and a scare that almost left her completely blind. Nicks vividly remembers a moment during the celebration of her band’s album going platinum, where she partied for nearly 48 hours straight without removing her contact lenses. The result was a scratched cornea that could have had devastating consequences.
Fortunately, the band’s tour manager stepped in and was able to bandage up Nicks’ eyes at the venue before the first Rumours World Tour date. This quick thinking and action helped prevent Nicks from losing her sight and allowed her to continue performing for her fans.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Stevie Nicks continues to be a force in the music industry, captivating audiences with her unique voice and powerful performances. Her resilience in the face of adversity serves as an inspiration to many, reminding us all of the importance of taking care of our health and prioritizing self-care.
