A Chicago police officer has found himself at the center of a social media firestorm after a Florida sheriff publicly called him out for a bizarre incident at a resort. The Polk County Sheriffâs Office took to Facebook to share Sheriff Grady Juddâs video detailing the encounter with CPD Officer Dwayne Ocasio.
The incident occurred when Ocasio and his friends were blocking a road at Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo. A security guard asked them to move, but Ocasio responded by using a racial slur and pushing the guard. He even falsely claimed to be a Miami police officer, when in reality, he was a member of the Chicago Police Departmentâs 15th District.
Deputies were called to Ocasioâs resort room, where he initially refused to cooperate. After a brief standoff, Ocasio was arrested for battery. Sheriff Judd humorously recounted the encounter, emphasizing that Ocasio had learned a valuable lesson in Polk County.
Following his arrest, Ocasio was relieved of his police powers and reassigned to the Alternate Response Section. This section is typically reserved for officers facing disciplinary issues or medical conditions.
