Florida Files Lawsuit Against Biden-Harris Administration Over Criminal Illegal Immigrant Releases

By Bethany Blankley (The Center Square)

The state of Florida has taken legal action against the Biden-Harris administration, seeking information on the number of illegal foreign nationals convicted of violent crimes who were released into the United States instead of being deported.

Florida’s Attorney General, Ashley Moody, filed the lawsuit, citing the administration’s immigration policy as reckless and irresponsible. The lawsuit alleges that the administration’s actions have led to dangerous criminals being released into communities, causing chaos and crime.

The lawsuit was initiated after Florida’s Freedom of Information Act request in March received no response. The request aimed to uncover details about criminal illegal foreign nationals allegedly being released into the U.S. post their prison terms, rather than being deported.

Named defendants in the lawsuit include U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Moody criticized the administration for refusing to deport dangerous illegal immigrant prisoners and emphasized the need for transparency in such matters.

Moody highlighted the contrasting treatment of illegal border crossers apprehended at land borders versus those interdicted at sea. While sea interdictions often result in repatriation, land border apprehensions frequently lead to processing into the U.S. without immediate removal.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, the lawsuit states, criminal aliens are brought to the U.S. for prosecution and imprisonment but are not deported upon completing their sentences. This departure from established practices has raised concerns about public safety and national security.

Florida’s legal action underscores the need for accountability and adherence to immigration laws, especially concerning the release of criminal illegal immigrants into American communities. The lawsuit seeks to compel ICE to disclose relevant information and cover legal fees incurred by Florida.

Overall, the lawsuit reflects growing concerns about the administration’s immigration policies and their impact on public safety and law enforcement efforts in states like Florida.

With the rise of social media and online platforms, the way we consume news and information has drastically changed. People no longer rely solely on traditional news outlets, such as newspapers and television, to stay informed about current events. Instead, many turn to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit for their news fix.

One of the main reasons for this shift is the immediacy of social media. News stories can be shared and spread within seconds, allowing users to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in real-time. This has made social media a popular choice for breaking news updates, as users can receive notifications and updates as soon as a story breaks.

Another reason for the popularity of social media as a news source is the ability to personalize the content you see. With algorithms that tailor content to your interests and preferences, social media platforms can provide a more curated news experience. Users can follow specific news outlets, journalists, or hashtags to create a feed that is tailored to their interests.

Additionally, social media allows for more interactive news consumption. Users can engage with news stories by commenting, sharing, and reacting to them. This creates a sense of community and allows for discussions and debates to take place around current events.

However, there are also drawbacks to relying on social media as a news source. One of the main concerns is the spread of misinformation and fake news. With the ease of sharing and posting on social media, false information can spread quickly and easily, leading to confusion and mistrust.

Another issue is the lack of editorial oversight on social media platforms. Traditional news outlets have editorial standards and fact-checking processes in place to ensure the accuracy of their reporting. On social media, anyone can post information without verification, leading to a lack of accountability and credibility.

Despite these drawbacks, social media has undoubtedly changed the way we consume news. It has made news more accessible, immediate, and interactive. As social media continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how it further shapes the news landscape and how traditional news outlets adapt to this new era of journalism.
