“Joker: Folie à Deux” was doomed from the start, with even cast members predicting its failure. Comedian Tim Dillon, who had a role in the widely criticized film, revealed on “The Joe Rogan Experience” that he knew the movie was going to flop. In a candid discussion with Joe Rogan, Dillon didn’t hold back, labeling the movie as the “worst film ever made.”

According to Dillon, the filmmakers behind “Joker: Folie à Deux” panicked when the first film faced backlash for its portrayal of male rage and its popularity among the incel community. In an attempt to course-correct, they made drastic changes, including putting Joaquin Phoenix in tap shoes. This decision only added to the confusion and lack of coherence in the film.

Dillon shared anecdotes of being on set with other actors who were equally baffled by the direction of the movie. With no clear plot in sight, it was evident to Dillon and his fellow actors that the film was destined to fail at the box office.

Playing the role of an Arkham Asylum prison guard, Dillon witnessed firsthand the disappointment of “Joker: Folie à Deux” failing to live up to its predecessor. While the first film grossed over $1 billion and earned Phoenix an Oscar, the sequel only managed to make a little over $200 million globally.

Critics were equally unimpressed with the film, giving it a dismal 32% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The negative reviews further solidified the consensus that “Joker: Folie à Deux” missed the mark.

Perhaps, as Dillon suggests, filmmakers should listen to the insights of bit role actors in the future to avoid such cinematic missteps. Only time will tell if lessons will be learned from the disappointing reception of “Joker: Folie à Deux.”
