In a shocking twist of events, Iman Abdul, once a campaign organizer for Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, now finds herself on the wrong side of the law. Charged with making terror threats, Abdul allegedly incited her 25,000 social media followers to “attack” the Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences located in Manhattan Beach.
In a now-deleted post, she provocatively suggested that if anyone was looking for a public school to target, this was the one, citing its association with what she referred to as “Lexus driving Israhell (sic) loving Zionists.” This inflammatory rhetoric was coupled with a Google Maps link to the school, providing a rather unhelpful roadmap for her followers.
According to The New York Post, law enforcement officials from the NYPD apprehended Abdul at her residence in Brooklyn on Friday. The charges against her include making terroristic threats, aggravated harassment, threatening mass harm, and endangering the welfare of children.
Abdul’s political roots run deep; back in the summer of 2018, she actively participated in the Democratic primary campaigns of progressive candidates, including AOC and state Senator Julia Salazar, where she was even compensated for her canvassing efforts.
The online organization StopAntisemitsm was the first to bring Abdul’s post to light, urging that she be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. They characterized her actions as a direct incitement against Jewish individuals, particularly vulnerable minors.

In her defense, Abdul later communicated with the group, claiming she never called for a physical attack on the school. “I never called for an attack on the school in the sense of mass organization or even individual people attacking individuals, that’s literally stupid,” she asserted. Instead, she clarified that her intent was to verbally challenge what she termed a “Zionist institution funded by our public dollars.”
