Former Minnesota Vikings captain Jack Brewer has launched a scathing critique of state leaders for their refusal to align with President Donald Trump’s aim to safeguard girls’ sports.
In an interview with Fox News, Brewer, who is now in retirement, expressed concern for his family still residing in Minnesota. He emphasized that prominent Democrats are neglecting the imperative to protect girls by barring boys from their sporting spaces.
“I still have plenty of family in Minnesota — nieces, nephews, cousins — along with relatives coaching high school sports there,” said Brewer.
He dramatically added, “My family is being held hostage to these dark and demonic laws.”
In the face of a deadline set by the Trump administration, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison opted to refrain from enforcing a ban last Friday. Instead, Ellison pointed to the ongoing government shutdown as the reason for inaction.
The federal administration previously indicated that Minnesota’s transgender policies breached Title IX, drawing upon a controversy involving a transgender softball pitcher who led a girls’ team to a state championship.
Federal authorities have also highlighted instances of transgender athletes competing across the state. The Department of Justice has pursued legal action against Maine and California for analogous violations, hinting that Minnesota could soon be the subject of similar scrutiny once the government resumes operations.
“President Trump is absolutely correct in asserting that men should not participate in women’s sports,” Brewer declared. He suggested that when Congress reconvenes, federal funding should be cut off from states that continue to engage in what he terms “this insanity.”
He further stated that Minnesota has become “the laughingstock of America.” A significant number of school board members from over 100 districts have signed an open letter imploring Ellison and Democratic Governor Tim Walz to heed Trump’s executive order.
“You have hundreds of school board members standing in opposition to this, yet a governor and an attorney general wielding such power are imposing their leftist, satanic ideals on a populace that desires no part of it,” Brewer asserted. “The world is watching as Minnesota transforms into the epicenter of this darkness — the devil’s den. Change is imperative, and the people of Minnesota must wake up.”
In response, Ellison has accused the Trump administration of “bullying” students identifying as transgender.
Brewer, referencing Scripture, criticized Walz and Ellison for endorsing what he perceives as a demonic ideology. “The Bible says that it is better to have a millstone tied around one’s neck and be thrown into the sea than to harm one of His little ones,” he remarked. “Our nation was founded as a Christian nation — one that does not appease or promote sexual immorality.”
On Instagram, the Jack Brewer Foundation echoed his sentiments, stating, “The devil has his hands all over Minnesota — and Tim Walz and Keith Ellison are leading the charge. God cannot bless a state that harms His little ones.”
In another comment on the same post, Brewer reiterated, “President Trump is right, men don’t belong in women’s sports.”
