Johnny Knoxville, known for his crazy stunts on the reality show “Jackass,” is set to host a revival of the popular competition program “Fear Factor” on Fox. The new series, titled “Fear Factor: The Next Chapter,” is scheduled to premiere during the 2025-2026 season. Contestants will face daring challenges and social-media tasks while living together in a remote location.
Sharon Levy, CEO of Endemol Shine North America, expressed excitement about Knoxville hosting the show, stating that his daring charisma and spectacle make him the perfect fit for reimagining “Fear Factor.” The original series, hosted by Joe Rogan and Ludacris, featured contestants competing in extreme stunts for cash prizes.
“Fear Factor” and “Jackass” have both faced criticism for their outrageous and sometimes disgusting stunts. However, in today’s media landscape, where shocking content is more prevalent, the revival of “Fear Factor” may not have the same impact on viewers.
Fox President Michael Thorn praised Knoxville’s fearless entertainment skills, highlighting his ability to push boundaries and take on extreme challenges. Knoxville’s experience on “Jackass” and other projects makes him well-suited to lead the audience through the new version of “Fear Factor.”
In addition to his television work, Knoxville has appeared in films such as “The Ringer” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.” The new “Fear Factor” series is produced by Endemol Shine North America, with Kevin Lee serving as executive producer.
Casting for the show is open to U.S. and Canadian residents over the age of 18. More information can be found on FearIsBack.com. Stay tuned for the thrilling and wild adventures that await on “Fear Factor: The Next Chapter,” hosted by the one and only Johnny Knoxville.
