She claimed that the parents of Brian Laundrie, the man responsible for her daughter’s murder, had allegedly “gutted and renovated” his room while he was missing. According to Schmidt, she only found out about this new information a few days ago.
During the time when Brian Laundrie was missing, the police were searching for him, and his parents’ behavior raised suspicions. Schmidt claimed that a person who had been at the Laundrie’s house during that time revealed that Brian’s room had been completely emptied and renovated. His belongings were nowhere to be found, and it was clear that something was amiss. Schmidt expressed her frustration and anger at the situation, stating that it drives her “absolutely insane” to think of ways to make them pay for what they did.
Roberta Laundrie, Brian’s mother, is suspected of aiding her son in evading authorities while he was a key suspect in Gabby Petito’s murder. Despite pleas from law enforcement, the Laundries refused to cooperate and provide any information about Brian’s whereabouts. Schmidt, who spoke at CrimeCon 2024, revealed that she had forgiven Brian for his actions but believed that Roberta had no remorse in her heart.
