Gas Prices Plunge to New Multi-Year Low — and They’re Trending Lower ⛽ – The White House

In an unexpected twist, the nationwide average for regular gas has plummeted to its lowest point in 1,681 days — and it seems to be on a downward spiral. As reported by GasBuddy, drivers in 37 states are now enjoying prices that dip below $3 per gallon, while 22 states have seen prices drop below $2.75, and five states boast prices below $2.50.

Remarkably, some fortunate Americans can even find gas for less than $2 per gallon in at least four states, with Colorado leading the charge at a jaw-dropping $1.69 per gallon.

It’s a stark contrast to the days of the Biden administration, when gas prices reached unprecedented heights, despite attempts to alleviate the burden by tapping into strategic reserves. Fast forward to President Trump’s second term, and Americans are positioned to spend the lowest percentage of their disposable income on gas in two decades, a feat aligned with the administration’s aggressive push for energy independence.

This trend is part of a broader narrative of positive economic indicators. In just a week’s time, we’ve witnessed the national median rent decline for the fourth consecutive month, weekly jobless claims plummet to a three-year low, mortgage rates approach their lowest level in a year, and consumer sentiment rises.

This is undoubtedly good news for American consumers — and more progress is on the horizon. After four years marked by Biden’s expansive spending, lax border policies, and anti-energy initiatives that sent inflation soaring and squeezed working families, the tide appears to be shifting. The momentum now favors relief for all Americans, and the Trump administration is poised to ensure that this relief is felt across the board.
