Gavin Casalegno is unsure about the fate of his character Jeremiah in the upcoming movie adaptation of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” but he jokingly requested a death scene for his character during an interview with Us Weekly at Actors Rising Presented by The Actor Awards and ELLE. Casalegno expressed his desire for any storyline that would make fans and author Jenny Han happy, emphasizing that he has no information to prevent spoilers from leaking.
Inspired by Jenny Han’s novels, the Prime Video series focused on the love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah. The series concluded in September 2025, but Prime Video announced a feature film that would wrap up the story of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” Han teased that there is still a significant milestone left in Belly’s journey that the movie will explore, expressing her gratitude to Prime Video for supporting her vision.
Casalegno previously shared his hopes for Jeremiah’s character development, mentioning his passion for cooking and pursuing his dreams. He also speculated on Denise being a better match for Jeremiah than Belly, noting Denise’s ability to bring out different aspects of Jeremiah’s personality.
The actor acknowledged that it might be too early for Jeremiah to dive into a new relationship, expressing hesitancy about his character’s romantic endeavors. Despite his reservations, Casalegno emphasized that he ultimately wants Jeremiah to find happiness.
As “The Summer I Turned Pretty” prepares for its movie adaptation, fans can look forward to seeing how the story unfolds on Prime Video.
