The highly anticipated sophomore season of “Gen V,” the popular spinoff of Prime Video’s hit superhero series “The Boys,” is just around the corner, and fans can expect to see some new and familiar faces at Godolkin University.
One of the exciting new additions to the Season 2 cast is Ethan Slater, known for his role in “Wicked,” who will be playing Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the superhero school. Alongside Slater, several alumni from “The Boys,” including Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Chace Crawford (the Deep), and Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir), will also be making appearances in the upcoming season. The big casting news was unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, where a new trailer was also released.
The “Gen V” panel at the event featured stars Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Hamish Linklater, and showrunner Michele Fazekas. The trailer sets the stage for Season 2, with Starlight coming to the rescue of Marie, played by Jaz Sinclair, from a mysterious hospital room where she was held captive in the Season 1 finale. A new experimental program at Godolkin promises to enhance the powers of supes like Homelander, played by Antony Starr, and Marie finds herself caught up in the midst of it all. Additionally, there is a glimpse of Chance Perdomo’s character, Andre, following the actor’s tragic passing last year.
The logline for Season 2 reads, “In Season 2, school is back in session.” As the rest of America grapples with Homelander’s reign of terror, the students at Godolkin University are introduced to a new Dean who offers a curriculum that guarantees to make them more powerful than ever. While some students, like Cate and Sam, are hailed as heroes, others like Marie, Jordan, and Emma return to campus carrying the weight of trauma and loss. However, with tensions rising between humans and supes both on and off campus, the gang discovers a secret program linked to the university’s origins that could have far-reaching consequences, with Marie playing a pivotal role.
The Season 2 cast includes Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor as Jordan Li, Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher.
Showrunner Michele Fazekas leads the team of executive producers, which includes Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and others. The series is a collaborative effort between Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
