George Clooney and Family Escape Hollywood Culture in French Wine Estate
George Clooney, along with his wife Amal and their 8-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, recently made a move to their luxurious $11 million wine estate in Provence, France. The Hollywood star cited their desire to escape the “culture of Hollywood” as the main reason for the relocation.
In an interview with Esquire, Clooney expressed his concerns about raising his children in Los Angeles, stating, “I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life. In France, they kind of don’t give a s— about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”
In addition to their French estate, the Clooneys also own properties in England, Italy, and Kentucky, all in an effort to provide a normal childhood for their children. Clooney emphasized the importance of farm living for his kids, saying, “We’re very lucky. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for them, it’s like — they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.”
Aside from their move to France, Clooney has been outspoken about his disapproval of President Trump following his re-election in November 2024. The actor has been vocal about his political views and continues to use his platform to advocate for change.
