After a long wait, Samsung’s version of Wear OS 6, known as One UI 8 Watch, is beginning to roll out to the Galaxy Watch 7. However, some users may experience a slight delay before they receive the update.

As reported by Sam Mobile, the free upgrade to One UI 8 Watch has started becoming available to users of Samsung’s previous-generation smartwatches in South Korea, and the rollout has recently begun for users in the United States as well.

While Samsung has not provided a specific timeline for the rollouts in various regions, the fact that both South Korea and the US are already seeing the update means that users in the UK shouldn’t have to wait too long, with firmware updates likely to begin shortly.

The beta version of One UI 8 Watch was made available for the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra back in June. This current phase marks the stable release, which is expected to offer a more seamless experience, minus the bugs often associated with beta testing.

As of now, the official rollout of One UI 8 Watch has not been initiated for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with previous models such as the Galaxy Watch 6 anticipated to receive the update eventually—likely starting next month—but beta versions are yet to be released.

With the introduction of the One UI 8 Watch update, the Galaxy Watch 7 will gain enhanced health tracking capabilities, including Samsung’s innovative Bedtime Guidance feature, which delivers personalized recommendations aimed at helping users improve their sleep quality. Additionally, there is a new Antioxidant Index feature included.

So far, the only wearables that have launched with a stable version of One UI 8 Watch have been the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, with the Galaxy Watch 8 earning high praise, rated at four stars.

Although considered a minor update, the Galaxy Watch 8 remains one of the most comprehensive Wear OS devices available today. To see how it stacks up against its competitors, check out our article on the top smartwatches currently on the market.
