CTV’s Sullivan’s Crossing has returned for its fourth season, featuring a surprising cast departure and an unexpected secret husband storyline. Fans are curious about how to catch the show on The CW and Netflix.
Adapted from Robyn Carr’s book series, Sullivan’s Crossing centers around neurosurgeon Maggie, played by Morgan Kohan, who returns to her hometown in rural Nova Scotia. The series has introduced viewers to several characters, including her estranged father, Sully, portrayed by Scott Patterson, and newcomer Cal, played by Chad Michael Murray.
The show’s fourth season, which premiered on March 22, 2026, on CTV, is set to air on The CW starting April 20, 2026. The series is expected to arrive on Netflix in the summer, after its cable run concludes.
Before the season’s debut, Us Weekly revealed in March that Patterson would not be returning to his role in season 4.
“Season 3 of Sullivan’s Crossing concluded with Sully departing for Ireland, starting a new chapter in his life. Season 4 picks up the following day with Sully still overseas,” said Roma Roth, executive producer and showrunner, exclusively to Us. “Though Sully isn’t physically present this season, his character remains a significant part of the story, with the possibility of future inclusion depending on the show’s creative direction.”
Patterson addressed his unexpected departure, writing on Instagram, “The creative differences were becoming untenable, and I realized the show was not something I could continue with.”
Patterson emphasized it was not his decision to leave Sullivan’s Crossing.
“It’s unfortunate that it is now being suggested they moved on from me/Sully when the truth is quite the opposite, and those who have spoken out are aware of this, yet chose to suggest otherwise,” he added. “I had no intention of making a statement, but fans of the books and the show deserve to know the truth, as I’ve always respected those who support this industry by watching and loving these characters we are so fortunate to portray.”
“Every actor knows the experience of falling in love with a character and a story. I fell in love with Sully and hold nothing but fondness for him,” Patterson shared. “I truly enjoyed Sully and fought for his voice and character. The richness and depth of Sully, loved by book fans, is so multi-layered and intriguing.”
He concluded: “The fans deserved better than to think that the embodiment of this character, me, would disrespect not only the show but them. Ultimately, we are all fans of these characters and stories, and I will always support and defend the truth.”
