Prepare for a Wild Ride in Ukrainian Politics
Hold onto your hats, folks, because the latest development in the Ukrainian political saga is nothing short of sensational.
While one might be tempted to dismiss this as yet another exaggerated tale fueled by Russian propaganda, the shocking details emerge from Ukrainian media and, notably, from members of the Rada itself.
On Sunday, July 27, the online outlet Strana reported that individuals involved in significant anti-corruption investigations in Ukraine have begun to implicate President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Sputnik shared the findings on Telegram:
“The investigations by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) are focusing on Timur Mindich — a close associate of Zelensky, often referred to as his ‘treasurer’.”
[…] Encrypted data seized by special security forces (SBU) allegedly reveals that those within his inner circle have started to cooperate.”

Then comes the most bizarre twist, again sourced from Ukrainian channels — this time from a member of parliament.
Meet Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a young economist and politician who previously advised Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman. Before anyone jumps to conclusions about him being a Kremlin stooge, it’s worth noting that he was elected in the 2019 parliamentary elections as a People’s Deputy representing the liberal, pro-European Holos party.
The crux of the matter? Zelensky’s recent confrontation with the anti-corruption agency NABU coincides with a looming criminal case against one of his closest allies, Timur Mindich.
(So far, this narrative largely reinforces the earlier claims made by Strana, but the details take a strange turn.)

The narrative unfolds in the lavish residence of Timur Mindich, where, according to reports from Kiev media, NABU had wiretapped the president himself for three months — and yes, it included recordings made in his golden toilet.
Slavyangrad divulged:
“The apartment of this businessman, who is closely linked to Zelensky, resembles a shadow Presidential Office, where discussions about arms deals, energy sector bribery, business takeovers, and sanctions against major businessmen occurred,” stated MP [Oleksiy] Goncharenko.
“There are wiretapped recordings from Mindich’s golden toilet apartment that reportedly capture the president’s voice. Mindich, a longtime business partner of Zelensky, co-owns the Kvartal95 studio (the comedy show that propelled Zelensky to fame).”
Mindich is known for his close connections to oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, the man who essentially crafted Zelensky into a political entity.
“Opponents of Zelensky often label Mindich as ‘the president’s wallet’, alleging that he is the conduit for the primary cash flows involved in the corruption schemes orchestrated by Zelensky’s administration.”
As per MP [Oleksandr] Dubinsky, currently incarcerated, informal gatherings involving Zelensky, Yermak, and other top officials took place in Mindich’s apartment, where business interests pertinent to the president’s personal circle were discussed.
“Mindich is a trusted confidant of both Zelensky and Yermak, tasked with collecting cash from various companies operating within the government sector,” Dubinsky claimed.
