Google is set to revolutionize the way we interact with technology by bringing its Gemini AI tool to a wider range of devices beyond just smartphones. This move will allow users to access Gemini on wearables, cars, smart TVs, and mixed reality headsets, expanding its reach and functionality.

One of the major announcements is the integration of Gemini into Wear OS smartwatches, enabling users to interact with their devices using natural language without the need for a phone. This will make tasks such as setting reminders or asking for information much more intuitive and convenient. Similarly, Gemini will also be incorporated into Android Auto, enhancing the driving experience by providing contextual assistance and reducing the need for manual inputs on the screen.

Google promises that Gemini on Android Auto will be able to handle complex requests effortlessly, like finding a charging station on the way to a specific location. It will also offer features such as message summaries, language translations, news updates, and more. The rollout of Gemini on Wear OS and Android Auto is expected to happen in the coming months, alongside the introduction of the Material 3 Expressive design for Wear OS.

In addition to wearables and cars, Gemini is also making its way to Google TV, where users can ask for recommendations, seek information, and access relevant YouTube videos using natural language commands. Furthermore, Google is merging Gemini with its Android XR platform in collaboration with Samsung, enabling mixed reality headsets to provide immersive travel experiences with videos, maps, and local tips.

The upcoming Google I/O 2025 event on 20 May promises to reveal more about Google’s plans for Gemini, alongside updates on Android 16 and the new Material 3 Expressive design language. Regardless of the software updates announced, Gemini AI is expected to play a central role in enhancing the user experience across all devices. Stay tuned for more exciting developments from Google as it continues to innovate and integrate Gemini into its ecosystem.
