Google Pixel 10 Pro Spec Leak Suggests a Minor Upgrade

The latest leaks regarding the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL smartphones suggest that this year’s models may not bring significant changes compared to their predecessors, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The spec lists reveal that Google is opting for marginal gains rather than a major overhaul.

Starting with the Pixel 10 Pro, the display options remain the same with 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch LTPO OLEDs featuring 120Hz peak refresh rates and 3,000nits of peak brightness. The use of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the front and back cover material also remains unchanged. However, the new Tensor G5 processor promises a generational performance boost, with rumors suggesting a shift to TSMC’s 3nm process for improved efficiency and performance.

The Pixel 10 Pro will retain the 16GB of RAM from its predecessor, but Google may introduce some changes in the storage options. While the Pixel 10 Pro will offer 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants, the Pixel 10 Pro XL may drop the 128GB option. This shift could justify a higher starting price for the larger model.

In terms of camera setup, the Pixel 10 Pro will stick to the same configuration as the Pixel 9 Pro, featuring a 50MP main sensor, 48MP ultra-wide lens, and 48MP 5x telephoto lens. The front camera will also remain at 42MP. One minor tweak is the addition of macro shot capability to the larger telephoto sensor, alongside the ultra-wide functionality.

Moving on to battery provisions, both models will see a slight increase in capacity. The Pixel 10 Pro is expected to have a 4870mAh battery, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL will feature a 5200mAh battery, making it the largest Pixel battery to date. Charging speeds will also see a boost, with 29W for the Pro and 39W for the Pro XL.

Wireless charging enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Qi2 support is on the cards, allowing for wireless charging speeds of up to 15W. Overall, the upgrades in the Pixel 10 series may not be groundbreaking, offering existing Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL owners a reason to hold onto their devices for another year.

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 10 range on August 20, with a global rollout scheduled for August 28. Stay tuned for more updates on Google’s latest flagship smartphones.
