At first glance, Goran Konjevod‘s vases might be mistaken for delicate porcelain due to their lightweight and crisp facets. However, they are actually crafted from precisely folded paper. These creations explore the interplay between material, form, and function, and showcase Konjevod’s skill in blending organic shapes with subtle hues and gradients. The result is a striking sense of visual weight and presence, despite the thinness of the material.
Recently, Konjevod’s work was featured in the Art of the Fold exhibition at ACCI Gallery. His pieces, including “Grey Curves Vase” and “Artist’s Palette Vase,” are set to appear in an exhibition titled The Craft of Paper: Contemporary Takes on Tradition this August at the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking in Atlanta. More of his work can be viewed on Instagram.
