The family feud unfolded when Holly, 26, decided not to invite the groom’s mother, Caroline, to her bachelorette party. This decision led to tensions as Caroline expressed her hurt feelings in an interview, stating, “It’s as if they have cut my heart out.” Subsequently, Caroline was uninvited from the wedding, while the groom’s father, Mark, was offered a seat at the back of the church, which he declined.
During the reception, the groom, a renowned triple Olympic gold medalist, addressed the rift in his speech, thanking the guests for their support during a “difficult time.” The whole incident added an unexpected twist to what was supposed to be a joyous occasion.
