The tragic death of Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a congressional intern killed in a drive-by shooting in Washington, DC, has left his family devastated and calling for justice. Tamara Tarpinian-Jachym, Eric’s mother, shared the heartbreak her family is enduring in a recent interview, emphasizing that their lives will never be the same.

Describing the moment she received the news of her son’s death, Tamara expressed the profound shock and disbelief at the senseless violence that took Eric’s life. She tearfully mentioned that her son was a good boy who did not deserve such a fate, highlighting the pain experienced by many innocent victims of violence.

Eric was in DC serving as an intern for Rep. Ron Estes at the time of the shooting, which also injured a 16-year-old male and an adult female. Tamara revealed that no suspects have been apprehended yet, and the family is seeking closure and justice for Eric’s untimely death.

In response to the rising crime rates in the city, Tamara called on city officials to take a tougher stance on crime and prioritize the safety of DC residents, visitors, and workers. She criticized the leniency shown towards criminals and urged for stricter policies to combat the growing violence in the nation’s capital.

President Trump has threatened to intervene if leadership lapses are not addressed, prompting Tamara to emphasize the urgent need for change. She expressed her belief that DC should be the safest city in the country and called for a unified effort to make communities across the nation safer for all.

Despite the tragedy, the Tarpinian-Jachym family received support from the White House and Rep. Estes’ office, which Tamara acknowledged and appreciated during this difficult time. The outpouring of sympathy and solidarity has provided some comfort to the grieving family as they seek justice for Eric and work towards creating a safer and more secure future for all Americans.
