Gun-Toting Assailant Sails Up To Bar, Fatally Shoots 3, Injures 8

6:32 AM PST — The Southport Police Department has arrested a man named Nigel Edge,
who is currently the focus in the investigation of the mass shooting occurring on Saturday night, according to court documents
acquired by TMZ.

He faces serious charges, including three counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted murder,
and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

No bond has been set at this point, and he is expected to appear in court on Monday.

Just when people thought mass shootings couldn’t get any more bizarre, enter: the shooter with a boat.

The incident unfolded when the suspect navigated his boat up the Cape Fear River to the American Fish Company saloon
in Southport, North Carolina at approximately 9:30 PM ET Saturday, as reported by spokesperson ChyAnn Ketchum.

Ketchum confirmed that the assailant halted his boat to shoot at patrons located in an outdoor area of the bar, resulting
in the tragic deaths of three individuals and injuries to eight others.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, steering his boat toward Oak Island, a nearby beach town, according to
Ketchum.

Authorities are currently interrogating a person of interest related to the shooting, but Ketchum declined to confirm
whether this individual was connected to the boat incident.

The conditions of the injured victims remain undisclosed at this time.

At this point, police have not established a motive for the shooting.
