Gun Battle Over Bronx Parking Spot Leaves Senior Citizen Fighting for Life

In a shocking turn of events, two road ragers engaged in a gun battle over a parking spot in the Bronx, resulting in a bystander being wounded and one of the gunmen fighting for his life. The altercation occurred near Bryant Avenue and Jennings Street in Crotona Park East around 9 a.m., according to sources and police reports.

The confrontation began when a 66-year-old man brandished a gun during an argument over the parking spot. His rival responded by firing multiple shots at him, hitting him in the chest. The exchange of gunfire also led to a 48-year-old woman, described as an unintended target, being grazed in the ankle.

The injured man was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, while the woman is in stable condition. The gunman who fled the scene southbound on Bryant Avenue is still at large, and it is unclear if he sustained any injuries in the altercation.

This incident adds to the growing number of shooting incidents in the 42nd Precinct, with a 12.5% increase compared to the same period last year. As of September 1, there have been 27 shootings recorded, highlighting the escalating gun violence in the area.
