Missing a delivery can be frustrating, and prosecutors allege that Dylan Longstreet took it to the next level with his response. Longstreet, 21, reportedly recruited three friends on January 31 to locate a FedEx truck he believed had bypassed his address. According to allegations, when they found the vehicle in the 10000 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, Longstreet confronted the 23-year-old driver with a firearm.

In a surprising twist, Longstreet is said to have provided the driver with his own name and home address as identification for the package he sought, reflecting his lack of prior criminal activity, prosecutors noted.

After allegedly boarding the truck with his companions, Longstreet reportedly retrieved the misdelivered package, while his accomplices took an additional ten packages before fleeing. Prosecutors claim Longstreet also demanded the driver’s phone and wallet during the incident.

The truck’s surveillance system captured the entire episode, adding to the evidence against him.

When police arrested Longstreet, they reportedly found a loaded firearm in his waistband. Despite holding a valid firearm owner’s identification card, officials stated that Longstreet lacked a concealed carry license.

He faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery in a public location, and unlawful possession of a weapon in a vehicle.

Judge James Costello initially approved the state’s request to hold Longstreet, describing the alleged crime as “an extremely dangerous offense over a minor inconvenience,” based on court documents. However, records indicate that Judge Laura Ayala-Gonzalez later decided to release Longstreet under electronic monitoring.
