Spate of Armed Robberies Reported in Chicago on Christmas Eve
Chicago police are currently investigating a series of armed robberies that took place late on Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning. As of now, no suspects have been apprehended.
The first incident occurred at the Shell station located at 3011 West Belmont around 10:10 p.m. A man reported that while he was at the gas pumps, a masked gunman approached him and demanded his wallet. Following the robbery, the suspect fled the scene in a black sedan.
Approximately 20 minutes later, a 44-year-old woman was robbed in the 1600 block of West Barry in Lakeview. Three men approached her, with one displaying a firearm and taking her purse, wallet, and keys. The group, described as three Black males wearing black clothing and ski masks, made their getaway in a gray sedan.
In the early hours of Christmas morning at around 4:45 a.m., another man fell victim to an armed robbery in Bucktown. Three individuals brandishing a gun approached him in the 1700 block of West Armitage. According to an officer at the scene, the suspects were three Black males aged between 15 and 18, dressed in all black with ski masks. They fled in a green SUV.
