Harrison Ford received the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award during the 2026 Actor Awards, reflecting on his illustrious career. The 83-year-old actor graciously accepted the honor at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, delivering a heartfelt speech.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Ford humbly acknowledged his peers, stating, “I feel incredibly grateful for this kind of attention, but to be clear, I also am quite humbled. I’m in a room with actors, many of whom are here because they’ve been nominated to receive a prize for their amazing work, while I’m here to receive a prize for being alive.”

Despite being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, Ford humorously remarked that it felt a bit premature as he considers himself a working actor still in the middle of his career. He credited his success to the support and collaboration of individuals like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Reflecting on his journey, Ford shared, “I was not an overnight success. I struggled for about 15 years, going from acting job to carpentry and back to acting till I finally got a part in a wildly successful film.” He emphasized the importance of teamwork in the industry and expressed gratitude for the incredible collaborators he has worked with throughout his career.

As he accepted the prestigious award, Ford highlighted the joy of storytelling and the power of creating emotional connections through acting. He expressed appreciation for the privilege of working in a field that allows individuals to explore diverse ideas and experiences through the art of performance.

Furthermore, Ford expressed his gratitude to his wife, Calista Flockhart, and his family for their unwavering support. He acknowledged the role they played in providing him with love and courage throughout his career.

SAG-AFTRA announced Ford as the recipient of the Life Achievement Award in December 2025, recognizing his significant contributions to the industry. Ford, in turn, expressed his deep honor at being chosen for the award and reflected on the impact of his work alongside talented actors and crews.

Joining the esteemed list of previous recipients, including Clint Eastwood, James Earl Jones, and Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford’s legacy in Hollywood as Han Solo in Star Wars and Indiana Jones has solidified him as a legendary figure in the entertainment industry.

Harrison Ford is a legendary actor known for his iconic roles in Hollywood. His career has spanned decades, and he has starred in numerous successful films. Some of his notable works include the 1982 film “Blade Runner,” the 1985 film “Witness,” the 1992 film “Patriot Games,” the 1993 film “The Fugitive,” and the 1997 film “Air Force One.”

In recent years, Ford has also made a mark in the television industry. He starred in the Paramount+ series “1923” from 2022 to 2025 and currently appears in the Apple TV show “Shrinking,” which he has been a part of since 2023.

Despite his extensive list of acting credits, Ford has yet to share the screen with his wife, Calista Flockhart, whom he married in June 2010. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in February 2025, Ford expressed his desire to work with Flockhart if the right opportunity presented itself.

Ford also shared that his current role on “Shrinking” allows him to spend more quality time with his family. He is the father of sons Ben and Willard from his previous marriage to Mary Marquardt, son Malcolm and daughter Georgia from his late marriage to Melissa Mathison, and son Liam with Flockhart.

Describing his experience on “Shrinking,” Ford stated, “This is the best job I’ve ever had. I live half an hour away. I go home and I sleep in my own bed. I’m in the same town as my wife and children, and I’m doing really smart, intelligent storytelling with incredibly talented people.”

Ford’s career continues to thrive both on the big screen and on television, showcasing his versatility and talent as an actor. His dedication to his craft and his commitment to his family make him a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
