On Tuesday, CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten discussed recent polling results among traditional U.S. allies, highlighting a lack of global support for Donald Trump’s military actions in Iran. According to Enten, this situation illustrates how the “chickens are coming home to roost” for Trump.

Enten explained to “News Central” anchor John Berman that the reason behind the limited international backing is “really simple.”

“The people in those countries hate, hate, hate the U.S. military action in Iran,” he emphasized, citing net approval ratings of -27 in Canada, -73 in Japan, and -34 in the United Kingdom.

At one point, Enten expressed his surprise, saying, “My goodness gracious.”

He further elaborated, “Key U.S. allies, the people in those countries, absolutely despise the U.S. military action in Iran. No wonder the leaders in those countries are, let’s just say, a little apprehensive about helping out the U.S.”

Enten noted that this reaction is part of a broader decline in America’s image abroad. He highlighted that the favorable view of the U.S. in 2025 under Trump has decreased compared to 2024 under Joe Biden, with 79% of residents across 24 surveyed countries holding a less favorable opinion.

In conclusion, Enten stated, “The bottom line is this: The folks overseas are far less likely to view the U.S. favorably, and those chickens are coming home to roost in this situation, as there’s very little support abroad for the U.S. military action in Iran.”
