Heartbreaking Vigil Held for Victims of Lake Tahoe Avalanche

Mourners gathered for a solemn vigil on Sunday night to honor the victims of the tragic Lake Tahoe avalanche.

A touching memorial was organized by volunteers in Truckee’s historic downtown to remember those lost in the devastating Castle Peak disaster.

The avalanche last Tuesday claimed the lives of nine individuals, making it California’s deadliest avalanche incident on record.

The victims, consisting of six mothers and three tour guides from Blackbird Mountain Guides, were identified by name.

Bolyn Hubby, a dear friend of Morse, tearfully expressed her sorrow during the vigil, reminiscing about their friendship and the impact Morse had on her life.

The community also installed “mercy hearts” bearing the names of the deceased under an eagle statue as a means of providing solace during this time of mourning.

James Crasner, a volunteer with Lutheran Church Charities, emphasized the importance of coming together to grieve and support one another in the face of such tragedy.

As the community grapples with the immense loss, comfort dogs from LCC have been deployed to provide support and compassion to those in need.

The outpouring of love and remembrance at the vigil serves as a beacon of hope and unity during this dark time.
