The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina recently concluded with the Norwegian squad emerging as the top medal winners, followed by the USA and the Netherlands. This victory marked the fifth consecutive time that Norway has dominated the Winter Games, showcasing their unparalleled skills and talent in various winter sports disciplines.

The Norwegian team’s incredible performance at the Winter Olympics is truly commendable. They have consistently excelled in previous editions of the Games, winning 26, 27, 39, and 37 medals at the 2010 Vancouver, 2014 Sochi, 2018 PyeongChang, and 2022 Beijing Olympics, respectively. This year, they continued their winning streak by clinching a total of 41 medals, including 18 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze.

One of the standout athletes from the Norwegian squad was Sturla Holm Lægreid, who secured five medals in various events, including three silver and two bronze. Johannes Klæbo also made headlines by winning six gold medals, bringing his total Olympic medal count to an impressive 13. His stellar performance in cross-country skiing helped lead the Norwegian team to victory in multiple events.

Following Norway on the medal tally list was the American squad, who secured a total of 33 medals, including 12 gold, 12 silver, and nine bronze. Their exceptional performance in freestyle skiing and speed skating contributed to their success at the Winter Olympics. The Dutch team also put up a strong showing, earning 20 medals, including 10 gold, seven silver, and three bronze.

The host country, Italy, settled for fourth place on the medal tally with a total of 30 medals, including 10 gold, six silver, and 14 bronze. The overall medal tally for the 2026 Winter Games showcased the incredible talent and dedication of athletes from around the world, competing in a wide range of winter sports disciplines.
