Season 2 of the popular hockey romance drama “Heated Rivalry” is highly anticipated by fans, with series creator Jacob Tierney revealing that it is coming “as soon as humanly possible.” Tierney, along with executive producer Brendan Brady, appeared on “CBS Mornings” to provide an update on the progress of the new season. Production for Season 2 is set to commence in August, with a projected release date in April 2027.

Tierney expressed excitement about bringing more “Heated Rivalry” to viewers, emphasizing the show’s secret romance and urging fans to “enjoy the yearn” until they can watch the new episodes. The series, based on Rachel Reid’s “Game Changers” book series, follows the journey of star hockey players Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (played by Connor Storrie). The two athletes, described as “two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey,” are bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull that neither fully understands.

Starting as a secret fling between two rookies, Shane and Ilya’s relationship evolves over the years into a complex tale of love, denial, and self-discovery. As they chase glory on the ice, they also grapple with their feelings off it. Caught between their passion for the sport and the undeniable love they share, Shane and Ilya must navigate the challenges of their fiercely competitive world to make room for the fragile yet powerful bond they have.

“Heated Rivalry” is produced by Crave in Canada and streams on HBO Max in the U.S., captivating audiences with its compelling storyline and dynamic characters. With Season 2 on the horizon, fans can look forward to more twists and turns in the lives of Shane and Ilya as they continue to explore the complexities of their relationship on and off the ice. Stay tuned for more updates on the release of Season 2 as the cast and crew work tirelessly to bring this captivating story to life.
