But as time went by and I saw that this was not happening, I realized that this was going to be a long and arduous battle. I was lucky to have the support of my legal team, my family, and friends who believed in me and stood by me throughout this ordeal. It was a difficult journey, but I never lost faith that the truth would prevail in the end.

How did this experience impact your family and your personal life?

This experience has taken a toll on my family and me. My husband and two children have had to endure the stress and uncertainty of the legal battle, and it has been a challenging time for all of us. It is hard to describe the emotional rollercoaster that we have been on for the past six years. But we have emerged stronger and more united as a family, and I am grateful for their unwavering support throughout this ordeal.

What lessons have you learned from this experience?

This experience has taught me the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of adversity. It has shown me the power of faith, perseverance, and the support of loved ones in times of crisis. I have learned that the legal system can be flawed and that innocent people can be caught up in a web of false accusations. But I have also learned that justice can prevail in the end, and that the truth will ultimately come to light.

As I look to the future, I am grateful for the opportunity to put this chapter behind me and move forward with my life. I am excited to continue building Wondery and creating compelling content for our listeners. And I am determined to use my experience to raise awareness about the impact of wrongful prosecutions and to advocate for justice and fairness in our legal system.

I didn’t want them to worry unnecessarily. It was a difficult decision to keep it from them, but I felt it was the best choice at the time.

Looking back, what lessons have you learned from this experience?

I have learned that the legal system is not always just and fair. It can be slow and flawed, and innocent people can be caught up in it. I have also learned the importance of being proactive in legal matters and not assuming that everything will work out on its own. It’s crucial to take action and protect yourself, even when you believe you have done nothing wrong. I have also learned the importance of having a strong support system, both personally and professionally, to help you navigate difficult situations like this.

What are your plans now that the case is on track for dismissal?

I plan to continue my work in the media industry and focus on rebuilding my reputation. I want to use this experience to advocate for criminal justice reform and support others who may find themselves in similar situations. I am grateful for the outcome of my case, but I know that not everyone is as fortunate. I want to use my platform to bring attention to these issues and work towards creating a more just and equitable legal system for all. After going back and forth over the weekends, I wanted those involved to understand that being accused does not automatically make someone guilty. The presumption of innocence is a fundamental principle that reminds us not to prejudge others. Ultimately, the truth will always come to light.

This experience has had a profound impact on me. Growing up in Argentina under a military dictatorship, I was accustomed to the idea that where there’s smoke, there’s fire. However, going through this ordeal has taught me to approach accusations with more caution and skepticism. I no longer jump to conclusions or assume someone’s guilt based solely on an accusation. This shift in mindset has been the most significant positive change to come out of this experience.

Now that the legal troubles are behind me, I have launched a research and consulting firm called Owl & Co. It is a new venture that I am excited to pursue. This company will focus on providing valuable research and consulting services to clients in need of strategic insights and solutions.

As I move forward with Owl & Co., I am eager to channel the lessons learned from this challenging experience into my work. I am committed to upholding the principles of fairness, integrity, and objectivity in all aspects of my business. This new chapter represents a fresh start and an opportunity to make a positive impact in the world of research and consulting.
