Hockey fans were buzzing on social media as they analyzed the lines seen during Team USA’s practices in preparation for the 2026 Milan Olympics. Sportsnet reporter Kyler Bukauskas shared the line combinations, which showed a strong continuity from last year’s 4 Nations Face-Off, especially on the top line.

The forward lines featured Brady Tkachuk, Jack Eichel, and Matthew Tkachuk on the top line, followed by Jake Guentzel, Auston Matthews, and Matt Boldy on the second line. Kyle Connor, Dylan Larkin, and Tage Thompson made up the third line, with J.T. Miller, Brock Nelson, Jack Hughes, and Vincent Trochek rotating in. On defense, Quinn Hughes paired with Charlie McAvoy, while Jacob Slavin teamed up with Brock Faber. Jake Sanderson and Zach Werenski were another defensive pairing, along with Jackson LaCombe and Noah Hanifin.

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck, expected to be the No. 1 goalie, took the lead in drills during practice sessions. However, some fans expressed their concerns and opinions about the line combinations. One fan on Twitter criticized the decision to have both Tkachuk brothers on the first line, calling it a mistake. Another fan defended Zach Werenski, stating that he deserved more respect for his performance this season.

Other fans shared their thoughts on the line combinations, suggesting swaps and expressing concern about certain pairings. Despite the mixed reactions, the team seemed focused and determined to perform well at the upcoming Olympics.

Brady Tkachuk, one of the key players on the team, expressed his pride in representing Team USA at the Olympics. He delivered a patriotic speech, highlighting the honor of wearing the red, white, and blue on the international stage. Team USA’s first game is against Latvia in Group C, scheduled for Thursday, February 12 at 3:10 p.m. ET.
